Pre-Production, Production and Post-Production

Pre-production refers to the process before the production, which prepares all the elements in the film. It can involve: scriptwriting, casting, location scouting, costume designing, film budgeting and preparing a production schedule. Pre-production is vital and can never be skipped in the making of any film. If not done properly, the production process is more than likely to be a shambles. Once the process of pre-production is complete, the production process is ready to take place. Production simply just refers to all the filming and once that is complete, post-production can begin. Post-production involves editing what has filmed during the production process, and possibly adding non-diagetic sound.
